Carivino Tasting Review

The 2016 Chateaux La Croix de Pez is an authentic expression of a left bank and Cabernet Sauvignon dominant Bordeaux. The rich garnet color shows well in the glass. On the nose, classic hints of red and black fruit aroma billow with diffuse notes of licorice and chocolate nibs. This vintage is already showing promise with well-formed tannins, a refined balance off the tongue, gentle oak tones, and a medium finish that drinks well now (decant recommended) and will hold well over time. If you are new to Bordeaux or would like something to stock your cellar, this is the perfect “any occasion” recommendation. The compelling price point will undoubtedly reward you over the years.

Pairings

This pairs with hearty meats or grilled lamb and will finesse easily with any gourmet bistro burger.
